Heard through the magic of radio...
...Each sixty-second “Science Minute” radio program attempts to kick off with a compelling lead-in, i.e., “The big-bang was just a big puff,” and continues to build listener interest by presenting one or more science stories entertainingly and succinctly. Not until the final few seconds is the program identified.
The reason for this formatic is simple: Some people will “tune out” science news if they know it’s coming. We’ve learned that, with no introduction, listeners become interested in the content before they realize that it’s an informational feature.
Our goal is to simply interest people in science and perhaps motivate them to learn more.
The program, which can be used as part of a newscast or as a stand-alone sponsored program element, is free-form. That is, it may contain one or two stories, a number of headlines or a special feature, interview or actuality.
